Digital literacies across the curriculum EDUC5618
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) involves technological and multimodal tools and resources to share, locate and communicate information and knowledge (ACARA, 2024). Implementing ICT in classrooms builds digitally literate students who are able to function and thrive in the globalising and technologically advancing 21st century. The effective implementation of ICT in the classroom can help students develop the higher order critical thinking skills required to cope with the changing nature of society and the workplace in contemporary times. Being able to competently utilise ICT effectively and safely to advance student learning is an essential requirement for graduate teachers, per the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST). APST 2.6, 3.4, 4.5 and 7.4 (as part of the PLN) will be discussed in the portfolio.
